St. Mary's Parish Council Meeting
November 26th, 2007
The meeting began with a prayer
led by Fr. Bartnik. Present were members Kathy Gier, Rose Stang,
Cindy Weirzba, Sue Wierzbic, Greg Gorecki, Jacki Rachwal and guests
Randy Rachwal and Maryann Preischel.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Reporting on activities of the
Holy Name Society, Fr. Bartnik said that the HNS diocesan board
meeting will be May 19 at 7 pm. this year was the best turkey
bingo profit yet. The recent round/square dance sponsored
jointly with the sportsmen's club did well also. Holy
Name members will be cross and candle bearers for stations of the
cross n the Fridays ofLent. CCD students will serve during the
Wednesday stations.

Altar and Rosary society
Christmas Party Tuesday, Dec. at 6 pm. See bulletin.
It will be catered, therefore call to announce your intention to
attend. There will be no card party.

The choir and hymns played
were discussed. Old familiar hymns were requested. A
lack of songs about Mary during some of the weekends of October were
noted.

The two trees n the back of
the church which have request ornaments on them are for one family
-
Maryann Hauth will begin
decorating the church on Dec. 12. The inside manger will go up
on the 15th and the outside one this Saturday.

Sue Wierzbic submitted the
following written report: Our Thanksgiving Mass went
exceptionally well. The students actively participated and
much food was donated for a local, needy family. Thank you to
all who participated in any way.
In the spirit of Christmas joy, various grade levels are being asked
to donate the following necessities for the 6 children, their ages
4,5,6,9 (girls) and 10,12 (boys). Grades 1-3 hats, mittens,
scarves, socks: Grade 4-6 hand soap, dish soap, laundry soap
and shampoo; Grade 7-10 toilet paper, Kleenex, paper towels,
napkins, tooth brushes, toothpaste and floss. Confirmation
class - games and toys. All items need to be donated by
Sunday, Dec. 16 so that they can be forwarded to the family by
Christmas day. Kindly remember them in your prayers.
Confirmation class will participate in the Eden Ecumenical Prayer
Service by singing 2 songs: "come Lord Jesus" and "Violet in
the Snow" It is a beautiful spiritual preparation for the
advent/Christmas season

The cemetery is plotted for
the survey paid for.

The Parish council will meet
again on Feb 25th
