the Charity Breakfast
NEW BUSINESS:
-
There has been some attrition of
membership on the parish council. Father has pointed out that
each of the parish ministries should have representation on the
council. Someone will concoct parishioners who act as lectors,
extra ordinary ministers of Holy Communion, the Heavenly Helpers,
Altar and Rosary Society, Holy Name Society, Buildings and Grounds,
alter servers, Catholic Charities, the annual chicken dinner, pro-life
and bible study in order to find people willing to serve on the
council. Rose Stang was appointed at this meeting to represent
the Bible Study group.
-
A note from John Wittmeyer was
read announcing the Albany Prayer Rally for April 4. Deadline
for signing up is March 20. A bus will leave Fr. Justin council
early int he morning and return about 9:00 p.m.
-
A vicariate meeting of priests
was recently held. Fr. Jim brought us up to date on some of the
issues discussed. A warning about fraud and scam artists by
Bruce Evert. Take home was check invoices and throw away
signature stamps. All changes will be by vicariate and will be
gradual. The seminary is important for the diocese and will
stay. Regular feedback from cluster meetings can be expected.
-
At this year's youth convention,
a youth congress on the strategic planning procuess was held.
Father reported that many ideas and good suggestions flowed from the
assembled youth sitting at 12 tables for discussion.
-
We have 21 confirmation
candidates this year.
Respectfully Submitted:
