St. Mary's Parish Council Meeting March 31st,
2008
The meeting began with a prayer
led by Fr. Bartnik. Present were president Larry Stilller, members
Jackie Rachwal, Jacob Rachwal, Sue Wierzbic, Cindy Wierzba, Lorena
Smith, Rose Stang, Jim Franz, Kathy Gier and guests Joe Turello & Randy
Rachwal. A motion by Jim Franz seconded by Rose stand to accept
the previous meetings minutes passed.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Several members, Fr. Bartnik,
Larry Stiller, Jim Franz, Ed Nowak attended part of St. John the
Baptist's Parish Council meeting on March 13. Jim Franz listed
a few of the items brought to our attention such as their
constitution, kind of committees, the ending of their Holy Name
Society some years ago.

Lorena Smith reported on a
meeting she attended with the cemetery committee at St. John's.
A copy of St. Mary's prices for graves and a description of our
paperwork was given to them. Lorena will continue to take care
of St. Mary's cemetery, that of St. John's is contracted.
Harold Haier will be helping Lorena at St. Mary's. St. Mary's
statue on the rectory lawn will be placed in a newly plotted area of
the cemetery. A new shed will be needed near the cemetery for
some lawn care tools. The crying room will be remodeled to
hold cemetery records.

Cindy Wierzba reported that
Catholic Charities is about $3,000 short of last year. We have
until June 30. 151 cards have been returned.

Sue Wierzbic's written report:
Classes continue to go very well. Our next Wednesday family
Mass is April 23 at 7:00pm. Grade 10 will be hosting the
reception. Our closing family Mass will be held on Sunday May
4 at 10:00 a.m. Grades 1 and 2 will be hosing the reception
The Confirmation retreat is scheduled for Sunday, April 6 from 2:00
to 7:00 pm with a Mass at 6:00 pm Parents are invited to
attend the Mass. Fr. Joe Bayne will be conducting the retreat.
On going religious education and confirmation preparation will be
available at St. John the Baptist, Immaculate Conception, Epiphany
of Our Lord and St. Peter and Paul. A retreat will be
mandatory for all confirmandi

Alter and Rosary Society
meeting next Monday, April 7th

Final Mass August 31st, Labor
Day Weekend
-
We will have a picnic this
Summer. Post meeting note: Harold Haier will do the BBQ
-
Building inspectors from the
Diocese were here today. The rectory, parish center and 14
acres of land will be for salef.
A motion by Jim Franz seconded by
Kathy Gier to adjourn passed.
