| The meeting began
with a prayer a led by President
Larry Stiller at 7:00pm There were 9 members present.
A motion by Joe Turello seconded by Duane Bauer
to accept the previous meeting's minutes passed
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
- Treasurer Gary Gier reported a balance of
$413.57
- Our annual membership breakfast will be at
ZJ's after the 10:00 am Mass on Oct. 14th
- A round/square dance sponsored with the
Sportsmen Club will be held Oct 20th - a Saturday at 8 pm
Larry will get about $50.00 worth of chips, pretzels. Any
leftovers will be used at the Turkey Bingo
- Turkey Bingo will be held in the Parish Hall
at 1:00pm on November 11th. John Wittmeyer to order 16 - 18lb
birds
- The annual diocesan HNS convention will be
held at St. Andrew's parish Sloan on Sat. Dec. 1st
- A men's retreat at St. Columban's is scheduled
for the weekend of Nov. 9-11
- No enthusiasm to put on a rib dinner
- We will host the Diocesan Board Meeting in May
2008
- Fr. Bartnik - Observations:
Having the social after the 10 o'clock family Mass in front of the
confessional may provide more room.
Many comunicants and few visitors to the confessional is a matter of
concern that people do not realize the importance of being in a state of
grace to receive Our Lord. The requirement is penance for a
serious sin annually and for receiving is annually, at Easter preferred.
Quoting Fr. Benedict Groeschel the answer to parents not attending Mass
is prayer.
