Dear Confirmation Candidate:

Sacramental catechesis is a total process of faith development that includes growth in personal prayer, involvement in a faith community and deepened commitment to the Church.  This catechetical process involves not only you who are preparing to celebrate the sacrament, but also your family and the entire parish community.

The goal of preparing for Confirmation is to lead the Christian toward a more intimate union with Christ and the actions, gifts, and biddings of the Holy Spirit, and to develop a sense of belonging to the parish community.

Therefore, you will be exposed to:

• Increased communal prayer and worship opportunities
• Mentors, guides and witnesses from the parish
• Community building activities
• Prayer Partners from the parish.
• Ministry and service aspects of the parish
• Study of the gifts and fruits of the Spirit
• Understanding of the role of the Holy Spirit in life
• Study of the ritual of Confirmation
• Time for prayer, reflection and discussion
