St. Mary’s Parish Council Meeting
November 29, 2004
The meeting began at
7:00 p.m. with a prayer led by president Larry Stiller, Jacob
Rachwal, Sr. Judy Bieswanger, Kathy Gier, Jim Franz, Rich Smith,
Gene Gates, Father John and Tracy Keller were present.
A motion by Rich
Smith, seconded by Gene Gates to accept the previous meeting’s
minutes, with correction, passed. Those present should read
Allan Telaak not Bob Telaak.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
-
roof fund stands at $4910.00
-
walkway is finished. The survey to find the corner
markers
of the new cemetery is also finished

Sr. Judy Bieswanger submitted the following reports
o
Confirmation Retreat 2004 – The Confirmation Class
attended a retreat at St. Columban Retreat Center on November 7,
2004. The retreat director stated that our youth were the best
she has ever had. They were very responsive, well behaved and
mature. We had 100
% attendance.
o
The First Communion class will have a shared
luncheon on Sunday, December 5th. Families will
attend the 10 Mass followed by an information meeting with
parents, class for the children, bread making and a luncheon.
o
Diane and Jim Franz did a great job preparing the
second grade children for the Thanksgiving Mass. “I am grateful
for the teachers, Fr. John and the families for the wonderful
celebration of Thanksgiving.” I am grateful to Tracy Keller and
Susan McMahon who helped me in the religious ed office every
Sunday morning. It frees me to go into the classrooms
o
Tracy Keller and Sherry Becker will on the parish
council by appointment'
The
roof gutter on the church is obstructed and a contractor who can
reach the area is being sought

Tracy Keller has volunteered to do the website updates
for the parish i.e. events and Mass Schedules, etc.
-
A painted cross walk and signs will go with it are
planned for the new walkway.
NEW BUSINESS:
-
A new sink was needed in the church bathroom and has been
replaced
-
We have a contract for snow removal with Jerry Haag. A
number of details about where exactly snow needs to be removed
were brought up and will be passed on to Mr. Haag.

Christmas day there will be a 10:00 a.m. Mass and no
vigil Mass. On Sunday our regular schedule will be followed.
It will be the same for New Year, except that New Year is not a
holy day of obligation and Mass will be at 8:00 AM
-
Next meeting will be Jan 31st, 2005 .
